The Eastern Regional House of Chiefs has called on politicians to refrain from interfering in chieftaincy matters to preserve the integrity of the institution.
Speaking at the General Meeting of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs in Kyebi on Thursday, February 6, the Konor of Manya Krobo, Nene Sakite II, expressed concern over the growing involvement of politicians in traditional affairs.
He warned that such interference not only erodes public trust but also fosters disrespect toward chieftaincy.
Nene Sakite II, therefore, urged politicians to keep their distance from chieftaincy-related issues to maintain the institution's credibility and stability. "Previously when we talk about stakeholders in chieftaincies everybody can imagine who they are; the queen mother, the kingmakers, and the royalties.
