The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo-Dampare, has reaffirmed the Ghana Police Service's commitment to enhancing security at football stadiums following recent incidents of violence.
In a high-level meeting with the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), and Premier League clubs, the IGP outlined key measures to curb stadium violence.
The discussion was triggered by the tragic death of Yaw Frimpong, an Asante Kotoko supporter, during a league match against Nsoatreman FC.
Dr Akuffo-Dampare emphasized the need for better coordination between the police and football authorities, leading to the approval of 33 key actions for implementation.
