President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Ernest Brogya Genfi as the Deputy Minister-designate for Defense, recognizing his important role in the National Democratic Congress (NDC)'s victory in the 2024 general elections.
Brogya Genfi, an experienced politician and former Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer of the NDC, played a pivotal role in mobilizing grassroots support, particularly in strongholds traditionally dominated by the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
His appointment is seen as a reward for his dedication to the party's electoral success and a strategic move to strengthen the defence sector under the new government.
As a key member in the party's campaign machinery, Brogya Genfi was instrumental in galvanizing youth support across the country, especially in the Ashanti Region, where he aggressively campaigned to improve the NDC's electoral performance.
