The Chairman of the Parliamentary ad-hoc committee investigating the vetting chaos, Emmanuel Bedzrah, has clarified that the directive to suspend the public hearing did not originate from Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin.

During the committee's first public hearing on Wednesday, February 5, Bedzrah announced the indefinite suspension of proceedings, citing a directive from the Clerk of Parliament, which was initially believed to have come from the Speaker.

However, in an exclusive interview with Vivian Kai Lokko on Channel One Newsroom later that day, Bedzrah revealed that Speaker Bagbin was unaware of the suspension.

According to him, parliamentary leadership claimed that Bagbin had instructed the committee to halt proceedings, given that the parties involved had already apologised.
