Acting Spokesperson for President John Dramani Mahama, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has assured that the government is unperturbed by the minority's political maneuvers regarding the appointment of Johnson Asiama as Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG).

This follows the minority urging the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to exercise strict scrutiny in its engagements with Dr Asiama to prevent potential global reputational risks to Ghana.

This stems from the government's recent withdrawal of all charges against Dr Asiama, who was previously facing trial in connection with the collapse of UniBank and UT Bank.

The Minority questioned his credibility to serve as a lead negotiator with the IMF under these circumstances.
