Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has revealed that the government is considering tapping into revenue from betting to boost sports development in the country.

Adams explained that the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) promise of establishing a sports fund could be fulfilled by generating funds from sports lotteries and betting activities.

He emphasized that since betting generates substantial revenue, it would be wise for the government to create measures to direct part of this income into the development of sports infrastructure and other key areas. "The NDC's promise to establish a sports fund must be fulfilled.

This could be achieved through a sports lottery or by allocating a percentage of existing taxes on sports betting activities," Adams stated in an interview with JoyNews.
