The public hearing on the chaos that erupted during the vetting of ministerial nominees has been suspended until further notice.
Emmanuel Bedzrah, Chairman of the Committee investigating the vetting chaos, announced the suspension following instructions from the Clerk of Parliament, Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror.
The suspension aims to ensure that all necessary information and guidance from the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, are received before proceeding with the hearing.
Bedzrah said this when he clerk of the Appointments Committee, Gifty Jiagge-Gobah was still being heard by the committee. "I have gotten indication from the Clerk of Parliament and I want to put on record that the Clerk of Parliament has instructed that I should suspend the sitting until further notice. "Therefore, I want everybody to be aware that it is not the committee that wants the hearing stopped, but the Clerk of Parliament has requested that until he gets further information from the Speaker, the committee should suspend its sitting," Bedzrah stated.
