FIFA High-Performance Specialist, Faisal Chibsah beleives the Black Stars had no desire and commitment during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Ivory Coast. After exiting at the group phase in 2021 in Cameroon, the Black Stars were hoping to put up an improved performance.
However, the team again exited at the group phase having finished the group games with two points after three games.
Reacting to the performance of the team, Chibsah said the team had no desire to compete.
According to him, the Black Stars under Chris Hughton played like they were forced to appear at the tournament. "A team with no desire, a team with no commitment, not adaptable and they played with no purpose," he told Sporty FM. "They were just passing and playing and it looked like they were forced to be at the tournament. "I have followed them but I think the problem is just bigger than technical," he added.
