English midfielder Conor Gallagher has completed a move from Chelsea to Atletico Madrid for a reported fee of £33 million. The 24-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the Spanish La Liga club. Gallagher, a Chelsea academy graduate, made 90 appearances for the Blues, scoring 10 goals. With his contract set to expire next summer, Chelsea decided to sell this summer to avoid losing him on a free transfer. In his farewell message on Instagram, Gallagher expressed his gratitude to Chelsea for the opportunities and memories he had during his time at the club. "To everyone at Chelsea, thank you for making my dreams come true," Gallagher wrote. "It's been an absolute honour every time I put on the shirt, and it was a dream come true to captain the team on many occasions. "I loved every moment.
