Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has alleged that certain influential figures within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are attempting to manipulate the vetting process by exerting undue pressure on the Chairman of the Appointments Committee, Bernard Ahiafor.

Speaking in an interview with Emefa Apawu on Joy News, Afenyo-Markin claimed that some members of the NDC are unhappy with the chairman's fair approach and have been actively working behind the scenes to sway his decisions. "There are members on the NDC side who approach him.

Maybe people don't pay attention, but if you watch carefully, you'll see it," he revealed. "The chairman is very cooperative during meetings, and he sticks to what we agree on.

Yet, there are forces within his own party questioning why he allows certain things to happen." The Minority Leader insisted that Ahiafor is facing backlash for maintaining fairness in the vetting process, rather than bending to partisan interests. "He has always acted in good faith, but he's come under heavy criticism for supposedly being weak.
