The acting paramount queen mother of the Shama Traditional Council, Nana Akosua Gyamfiaba II, has filed nomination to contest for the Council of State member for Western Region.
Nana Gyamfiaba, 62, also the queen mother of Nyankrom, near Shama, has pledged to work with stakeholders, to tackle poverty, illiteracy, ignorance, and promote healthcare. "I am committed to driving positive change in the Western Region if I am elected a member of the Council of State," she told The Ghanaian Times after filing her nomination on Monday.
Nana Gyamfiaba said she would liaise with the government, chiefs, civil society organisations and youth groups, to bring peace and development to the region.
She promised to solicit funding for development projects in the Western Region, while ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently.
