Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has dismissed claims by some Members of Parliament that he acts like a "headmaster" who treats MPs like students.

Addressing the House on Tuesday, February 4, Bagbin firmly rejected the characterization, stating that it does not reflect his leadership approach.

He emphasized the need for maintaining order in Parliament, noting that structure and discipline are essential for smooth proceedings. "I have read some media reports that some members of the house have referred to me as headmaster, treating honourable members like students.

I reject that assertion but I can assure you that when there are students there must be a headmaster. "If you don't have a headmaster, you know what is going to happen to the school," he stated.
