The Ghana Police Service has arrested Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, the owner of Nsoatreman FC, in connection with the violent disturbances that occurred during the February 2, 2025, Ghana Premier League match between Nsoatreman and Kumasi Asante Kotoko at Nsoatre in the Bono Region.

The disturbances tragically resulted in the death of a Kotoko supporter, Francis Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as Nana Pooley.

Baffour-Awuah, a former Minister of State and Member of Parliament for Sunyani West was apprehended along with two other individuals, Agyemang Duah Owusu and Kyeremeh Joseph.

All three suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting in the investigation.
