Minority leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin has taken full responsibility for the chaos that erupted during the vetting of some ministerial nominees last week.

Speaking on the floor of Parliament on February 4, 2025, Afenyo-Markin acknowledged the disruptions which caused concern among the general public.

The Effutu MP pleaded with Speaker Alban Bagbin to reconsider his decision and its consequences following the incident.

This is contrary to the minority's initial stance that the Speaker acted outside of the Standing Orders of the House. "Mr Speaker, I take full responsibility as a leader on my side, on all actions that took place.
