Ghanaian music duo Lali x Lola, has appealed to organisers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards to reinstate Group of the Year category into this year's award scheme.
In a statement released on February 3, 2025, the duo expressed their displeasure about the absence of the Best Group category from the award scheme.
They made a strong case as to why the category has to return, highlighting the contributions of music groups to Ghana's music scene. "Over the past few years, there has been a significant resurgence of talented and impactful music groups in Ghana.
These groups are making tremendous contributions to the growth of the industry, with chart-topping hits, compelling live performances, and a renewed sense of collaboration.
