Sports and Recreation Minister-designate, Kofi Adams, has vowed to implement special security measures for Asante Kotoko in future Ghana Premier League matches.
This comes after a fatal stabbing incident involving a Kotoko fan following clashes between Nsoatreman and Kotoko fans. "One thing from my reading is that, anytime Kotoko is playing a match in that part of the country, there seems to be some unpleasant situations," Adams said. "What it means also is that, some special arrangement will have to be made for Kotoko anytime they have to have that match in that area." To address these concerns, Adams promised to improve security at venues. "You are not going to have the same thing as in the past.
We will improve security at the venues," he assured.
The Ghana Football Association has taken swift action, halting the Ghana Premier League and imposing an indefinite home ban on Nsoatreman.
