Celebrated broadcaster and morning show host on Accra-based radio station Peace FM, Kwami Sefa Kayi, has extended an olive branch to the governing (NDC), appealing to the party to return to the station's flagship morning show, Kokrokoo.
The party boycotted the show in May 2020 after describing the host as a dictator and biased.
A statement signed by the National Communications Officer of the NDC, , explained that the decision was taken due to the radio station's "unfair paneling system," which the production team had allegedly imposed on the NDC over several months. "The National Communication Bureau of the (NDC) wishes to inform all its communicators, media monitors, and officials that the party has boycotted Peace FM's morning show (Kokrokoo) effective today, Wednesday, 6th May 2020," stated in the release.
The NDC further claimed that all efforts to convince the producers and host of the program to replace the former NDC Central Regional Chairman, Allotey Jacobs, with a fair-minded NDC representative had proved futile.
