Chairman of the Appointments Committee, Bernard Ahiafor, has clarified that the vetting of ministerial nominees is not solely based on questioning but involves a thorough process.
Speaking on The Point of View on Channel One TV on Monday, February 3, Ahiafor emphasized the multiple steps involved in the procedure. "Questioning is not the only means and the general public is hereby informed that we do not only base it on questioning," Ahiafor stated.
He explained that once the President nominates candidates, the committee first seeks a security clearance from the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB).
Additionally, a public notice is published in newspapers, inviting memoranda from citizens.
