Asante Kotoko's management is considering withdrawing from the Ghana Premier League following the tragic death of their supporter, Francis Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as Nana Pooley.
The devoted fan was fatally stabbed during Kotoko's Matchday 19 clash against Nsoatreman FC at the Nana Konamansah Park on Sunday.
The club's leadership intends to consult their life patron, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, before making a final decision on whether to continue participating in the league or suspend their involvement indefinitely.
Speaking to Asempa FM, club communications team member Seth Nii Darko confirmed that Kotoko's top hierarchy, led by Kwesi Appiah and Nana Apinkrah, will meet Otumfuo to discuss the situation. "Asante Kotoko's management will visit Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to inform him about the unfortunate incident in Nsoatre.
