The Majority Leader of Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has called for unity within the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He said that although President Akufo-Addo may have done something to offend them, they should forgive and work in a united front. "The president may have done something to hurt you, but equally, many of us have had the opportunity to serve under his government, either within the first four years or even in injury time. "Even for those of us who are injury-time appointees, we are celebrating. How much more are those of you who had four years in government or six years in government? Don't give up. Let us work together and win more." He also urged the parliamentarians and commended them for their support through their steadfastness and resilience: "Although we had a tight parliament, we have a majority of one.
