A Ghanaian citizen, Emmanuella Sarfowaah, has taken legal action against President John Mahama, the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), and the Attorney General, challenging Anthony Kwasi Sarpong's appointment as the GRA's Acting Commissioner-General.

According to a writ of summons issued by the High Court of Justice in Accra, Sarfowaah argues that the appointment of Sarpong was improper and is seeking judicial intervention. "You are hereby commanded that within eight days after service of this writ, you do cause an appearance to be entered for you," the court document stated, addressing the defendants.

The writ further warned that a judgment may be entered in their absence if the defendants fail to respond within the given timeframe.

While the details of Sarfowaah's legal argument remain undisclosed, the case is expected to spark discussions about executive appointments and their adherence to constitutional and procedural requirements.
