The Minority in Parliament are of the view that the Speaker's decision to suspend three of their members is politically charged.
According to them, the speaker should have at least given the members a hearing and exhausted all internal disciplinary measures before a decision should be taken on the matter.
The decision taken by the Speaker of Parliament, they believe, sets a bad precedent because, in the future, every speaker can arrogate punishment to any individual who does not align with their preferred political narrative.
The Minority cited instances where the speaker in the past presided over various chaotic sittings by parliament but did not take such punitive actions.
