The Minister-Designate in Charge of Government Communications, Felix Ofosu Kwakye has hinted that the President intends to merge the Ghana News Agency and the Information Service Department.

He explains that the merger will help make the two organizations work efficiently, as they have lagged when it comes to technological advancement.

Felix Ofosu Kwakye made this known when he faced the Appointments committee in Parliament on Friday January 31, 2025. "There are also other agencies like GNA, which, by virtue of its credibility and reliability in terms of news reportage, is widely accepted as one of the most important news outlets that the government has.

The President has the vision at some point of merging this entity with ISD, rebranding it, and calling it a government communications office.
