The Minister of Savannah Region-designate, Salisu Bi-Awuribe, has pledged to use a research-driven approach to uncover the root causes of conflicts in the region.
The nominee indicated that this will help resolve the conflicts through dialogue and collaboration.
He disclosed this during his vetting by Parliament's Appointments Committee on Friday, January 31, 2025.
He opined that conflicts are an intrinsic part of human behaviour and social interactions but stressed that the key to managing conflicts lies in understanding their underlying causes and addressing them at their roots. "Conflicts are part of human behaviour, and in many instances, when you identify the source or the cause of the conflicts, it is easy to resolve them, and so I intend to identify the cause of conflicts and resolve them. "Some of the conflicts that exist are nothing but communication gaps between the member of Parliament for the area whom the people voted for and are always contacting and an appointed DCE who might not have participated actively even in getting the MP and the government elected."
