The Paramount Chief of Domeabra in the Asante Akyem Constituency of the Ashanti Region, Nana Baffour Owusu, has praised the government for the implementation of the Free Senior High School (SHS) programme. According to the paramount chief, the initiative has relieved chiefs from the financial strain of paying school fees for various subjects. He said that prior to the introduction of the policy, chiefs and community leaders were often burdened with supporting members of their society with costs related to books, stationery, and tuition of students. Nana Baffour Owusu disclosed this when the running mate of the , , paid a courtesy call on him at his palace as part of his campaign tour in the Ashanti Region; adding that this challenge of chiefs, including himself, have now become a thing of the past. The chief further stated that the government deserves commendation for this commendable initiative, which has not only provided much-needed relief to chiefs but has also created opportunities for children from underprivileged communities and homes.
