The Minister of Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Sam George, has said he was led by the Holy Spirit to describe former Vice President Dr.
Mahamudu Bawumia as a "religious prostitute." The outspoken Member of Parliament, during a TV show in November 2023, stated that the then Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) could not be trusted to lead Ghana when his choice of religion was not clear.
He argued that Dr.
Bawumia was a Muslim by day and a Christian by night.
