The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) has called off its two-months-old strike. This was contained in a statement by the association on Tuesday, August 20. CETAG began a nationwide strike on June 14, citing the government's failure to implement agreed-upon arbitral awards and other conditions of service for its members. But CETAG in a statement on Tuesday, noted that it has called off the strike. "In an emergency virtual National Council meeting of the College of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) today, Tuesday, August 20, 2024, Council members have voted unanimously to call off the ongoing strike action of the Association with immediate effect," part of the statement read. The decision to call off the strike, according to the statement follows CETAG's meeting with the Office of the Vice President on August 15, 2024, at the Jubilee House and the assurance given to stand surety for resolution of the impasse.
