The Chief Executive Officer of African Energy Consortium Limited and member of CPP, Kwame Jantuah, has strongly criticised the proposal to remove taxes on betting. He argues that betting should remain taxed for the youth to understand that it is not a sustainable lifestyle.
"There still needs to be taxes on betting for people to realise that it is not a way of living."
Kwame Jantuah made this statement in an interview monitored by on GHONE TV on August 20, 2024. He further emphasised that strict rules and regulations should govern betting to discourage youth participation.
"Shouldn't we strive for a society where we make it challenging for people to depend on betting? Isn't it a form of gambling?" he questioned. According to Kwame Jantuah, betting is an immoral activity that is gaining support from our leaders, and he questioned if that is the direction they want the youth to take.
"It can lead to decadence, not a sustainable lifestyle.
