Multiple award-winning Ghanaian highlife singer and songwriter, Gladstone Kwabena Akwaboah Jnr, professionally known as Akwaboah Jnr, has revealed that he did not earn any money from writing songs for some of his colleagues in the past.   Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM on Thursday, January 30, Akwaboah disclosed that he used to write songs for musicians who struggled with songwriting, doing so purely out of passion.

According to him, seeing a song he wrote become a hit and hearing it played on radio and television gave him immense joy and fulfillment.Despite the success of many of the songs he penned, the celebrated singer admitted that he never thought of charging for his services at the time, meaning he made no financial gain from his work.

However, he clarified that things have changed now, and he currently charges for songwriting.

The 'Pressure' hitmaker further revealed that he was the mastermind behind some popular songs, including Becca's "Daa Ke Daa" and "Ayeyi Nnwom" by Kofi Sarpong featuring Nacee.
