The Kadjebi District Command of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) fire tender has been out of use since August 2024.
An Assistant Divisional Officer I (ADO I) Prince Essel Junior, District Administrator and Second-in-Command of the Kadjebi District Command, GNFS, disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Kadjebi in the Oti Region.
He said that though the GNFS Oti Regional Command mechanic came and assessed the fire tender, the cost of repairs is significant, and the District Command cannot bear it.
The Second-in-Command also mentioned that the Member of Parliament (MP) for Akan, Mr Yao Gomado, has suggested that the Command write for assistance, and they have complied and are awaiting a response.
