The Nhyiaeso Constituency Chairman of the (NDC), Ernest Afayam, popularly known as Nhyiaeso Commando, has said that he always laughs out loud whenever he hears the NPP's claim of targeting 85% of votes in the Ashanti Region. He said he wonders why a woefully failed political party like the NPP could build such a castle in the air, especially within its so-called stronghold region, where most of the electorates have given up. According to him, since the commencement of democratic elections in 1992 to date, the NPP has never secured 80% of votes; hence, the abysmal performance of the NPP can never guarantee them the 85% they claim. "How can you secure 85% at this time when you have totally destroyed the economy to bring hardship on Ghanaians, especially those in the Ashanti Region? It will never happen anywhere.
