The tragic stabbing of 43-year-old Alberta Obinim, who was based in the UK, has sparked concerns about the troubling trend of diaspora Ghanaians losing their lives to stabbing incidents. In the past 2 years, several Ghanaians residing in the UK have died in separate stabbing incidents. Although many of the culprits in these incidents have been apprehended, it has not significantly curbed the menace. A 2019 report by the UK police, posted on adomonline.com, said that about 120 Ghanaians between the ages of 14 and 22 were stabbed to death in London alone in 2018. This has shed light on the alarming rate of Ghanaian's involvement in knife violence in the UK, either as victims or offenders.
