A member of the Appointments Committee of Parliament, Patrick Yaw Boamah has stated that the request by activist, Oliver Barker-Vormawor to apologise to the committee for the unsubstantiated bribery allegation he made, is an afterthought.
He said that Barker-Vormwor should be punished for his conduct. "It is an afterthr0ught and he must be made to pay for his sins," he said during sitting on Wednesday, January 29.
Prior to this, Nana Ato Dadzie, Lawyer for Oliver Baker-Vormawor told the Appointments Committee of Parliament that his client did not intend to denigrate the committee with the bribery allegation.
Appearing before the committee, on Wednesday, January 29, he said "It was never intentional to make disparaging comments about the committee." He added, "It is the statement of a whistleblower about some happenings that must be looked at." Barker-Vormwor appeared before the committee over the allegation that committee members take monies to approve ministerial nominees.
