Speaker of Parliament, Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin has issued a strong caution to Members of Parliament who may be involved in illegal mining often termed as Galamsey.
The Speaker in his open statement on the floor of the House on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 admonished MPs engaged in the canker to put an end to it.
Speaker Bagbin underscored the need for lawmakers to live an exemplary life and show leadership to their constituents, emphasising that the House will take action against any member involved in the illegal menace.
He called on the lawmakers to disclose identities if any MP engaged in galamsey. "If any of you happen to be involved in galamsey please advise yourselves.
