Adwinsa Publications on Friday donated supplementary readers worth GH¢45,000 to the Ghana Library Authority (GLA) to mark the International Day of Education.
The donation forms part of efforts to promote reading among children across the country.
The 35 titles, written by indigenous Ghanaian authors, will be distributed to libraries nationwide to enhance access to locally relevant stories for children.
The Managing Director of Adwinsa Publications, Evelyn Amponsah, emphasised the need to cultivate a reading culture among children. She urged parents to develop the habit of taking their children to libraries, as it plays a crucial role in their development. "Books are essential to children's education, but the high cost of books, driven by expensive imported printing materials, makes them less accessible," she said.
