President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah as the Acting Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), pending the necessary constitutional and administrative approvals.

A formal letter issued from the Office of the President, signed by Dr Callistus Mahama, the Secretary to the President, announced the appointment in accordance with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 11(1) of the Economic and Organised Crime Act, 2010 (Act 804).

The appointment, which takes effect from January 27, 2025, is pending the receipt of the constitutionally required advice from the governing board of EOCO, in consultation with the Public Services Commission.

The letter further extended formal congratulations to Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah, encouraging him to accept or decline the appointment within 14 days of receiving the notification.
