The Ashanti Regional Minister-designate, Dr Frank Amoakohene, has outlined his commitment to tackling unemployment in the region as a key part of his agenda if approved for the position.

Speaking during his vetting in Parliament on Monday, January 27, Dr Amoakohene highlighted the region's unemployment rate of 16.0%, which is higher than the national average of 14.7%.

He described this as a pressing issue and pledged to work closely with various sectors to create decent job opportunities, particularly for the youth in the region. "The Ashanti Region, known for its agriculture, trade, and business, has significant potential for growth.

If given the nod, I will focus on addressing the infrastructural gaps, especially in trade and market expansion, to boost economic activity," he stated.
