President John Dramani Mahama will join several other African leaders in Nairobi, Kenya, as part of a high-level meeting to chart the path toward institutionalising reforms in the African Union (AU).

The initiative aims to position the AU to better address areas such as funding its own peace operations and supporting member states.

Following the appointment of President William Ruto as the African Union (AU) Champion for Institutional Reforms, he has been relentless in advocating for improvements, with a focus on enhancing institutional efficiency and strategic direction.

The high-level meeting will provide a platform for an in-depth analysis of the current state of the African Union, accompanied by discussions on the way forward.
