In a statement signed by Timothy Nyame, General Secretary of PUWU, the union reaffirmed its commitment to resist any attempts to privatize the ECG.

The statement, dated January 24, 2025, emphasized that PUWU had not been consulted as a key stakeholder in the process and urged its members to remain calm but vigilant. "We would like to assure our members of our resolve to resist any attempt by the government to privatize ECG.
