The Minister-Designate for The Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has pledged to review the processes surrounding the promotion of security officers in Ghana if approved for the position.

Speaking during his vetting before Parliament's Appointments Committee, Muntaka stressed the need to make promotions in the security services more merit-based and transparent.

He noted that the current promotion system in the security services appears too mechanical and does not reward the hard work and sacrifices of officers adequately.

Muntaka assured the Committee that, if given the opportunity, he would consult with security experts to design a fair and motivating system that ensures promotions are based on merit while also preventing any potential demotivation among officers.
