Sports and Recreation Minister-designate Kofi Adams has assured that Parliament will address issues surrounding Ghana's hosting of the 2023 African Games, which took place earlier in 2024.
Former Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif faced widespread criticism over the government's expenditure on the continental event.
Ghana reportedly spent over $245 million, with $195 million allocated to infrastructure, $15 million on feeding athletes during the 15-day event, and $48 million on operational costs, which the Local Organising Committee justified.
Several groups, including the Forum for Accountable Governance, have petitioned the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) to investigate the expenditures.
