The government has donated GH¢1 million to support victims of the devastating fire that engulfed Kantamanto Market in Accra on January 2, 2025.
The donation fulfills a promise made by President during a courtesy call by the Kantamanto Traders Association on Thursday, January 23, 2025, according to a report by Graphic Online.
The Chief of Staff, , presented the donation on behalf of the President, expressing the government's sympathy for the traders who suffered significant losses.
He emphasised the need for discussions on redesigning the market to prevent such tragedies in the future and announced plans to rebuild Kantamanto into a modern, multi-purpose facility. "There is hope.
