As Ghana celebrates over three decades of democratic stability, Professor Stephen Kwaku Asare has said it is time to confront the remnants of chaos that have no place in a democracy.

He has therefore called on law enforcement agencies to act decisively against perpetrators of the post-election violence. "Law enforcement must act decisively, the judiciary must deliver swift justice, and citizens must embrace the democratic ethos of peace and order.

There must be zero-tolerance for post-election violence and chaos," he wrote on Facebook in reaction to the post-election violence in part of the country.

Following the 2024 general election, won by the National Democratic Congress (NDC), irate youth of the NDC have stormed and vandalised state facilities in a bid to takeover these properties.
