Emelia Arthur, the Minister-Designate for Fisheries and Aquaculture, has vowed to conduct a thorough review of landing beach contracts to ensure the long-term sustainability and growth of Ghana's fisheries sector.

During her appearance before the Appointments Committee of Parliament on January 22, 2025, Emelia Arthur acknowledged the challenges within the sector, including concerns over the management and oversight of landing beach facilities, which are essential for the livelihoods of many fishermen across the country.

She assured of securing funding to continue uncompleted landing beach projects. "We will review the projects.
