The Concerned Youth of Damongo in the Savannah Region has expressed strong opposition to the disqualification of Mumuni Yahaya, a candidate for the position of Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the West Gonja Municipality.
At a press conference, the group alleged that the disqualification was orchestrated by Adam Mutawakilu, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Damongo constituency in the just-ended 2024 general election.
Sulemana Malik, the lead convenor of the group, criticized the vetting process, describing the committee as biased and one-sided.
He claimed that all members of the vetting committee were aligned with Adam Mutawakilu, raising questions about the fairness of the process.
