Some grassroot members of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) have raised concerns over a decision to appoint one Edmund Yirenkyi Fianko as the Director General of the National Communications Authority (NCA).

They argue that although Ing.

Edmund Yirenkyi Fianko is qualified and well-placed for the job, he led the closure of some Radio Gold and other radio stations.

To them, for a man who led the closure of Radio Gold under the New Patriotic Party (NPP), there is no need to empower him to cause a lot of hurt to the grassroots of the political party.
