The topic of Ghana's hospitality industry and the need for infrastructural improvement is one concern Concerns have been raised by key stakeholders.
This conversation was reignited by Abla Dzifa Gomashie, the Minister-designate for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, during her appearance before the Appointments Committee of Parliament on January 22, 2025.
Gomashie's remarks addressed the pressing issues that are holding back Ghana's tourism sector, particularly the lack of sufficient infrastructure to cater to growing demands. "This is an unending discussion, especially where hotel rates are concerned.
Even hotels that have franchises in other countries tend to be very high, comparatively," Gomashie noted, acknowledging the widespread concerns about accommodation costs in the country.
