Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, the Minister-Designate for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, has emphasized the need to modernize the Free Zones programme to better align with the country's current needs.
She underscored the critical role Free Zones play in promoting exports.
During her appearance before the Appointments Committee of Parliament on Wednesday, January 22, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare described the Free Zones Concept Act 504 of 1995 as outdated and called for a comprehensive review of the law.
She argued that the existing law is not in line with the global free zone ecosystem and needs to be updated.
