The unfortunate incident happened in the late hours of the day when the priest's mortal remains arrived. Reports indicate that one of the Asafoastes present started firing indiscriminately on the ground, forcing onlookers to run for their lives. The victims were quickly rushed to Weija Municipal Hospital for treatment but were later referred to Korle Bu for further treatment. Three of them would have to undergo surgery.
