Minister-designate for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has assured all teachers that their condition will be improved by the Mahama administration.
However, he said, this will be dependent on how much the economy would allow them to do.
Answering questions during his vetting by the Appointments Committee of Parliament on Monday, January 20, he said "We will improve the conditions of teachers to the extent that the economy can do." Mr Iddrisu further said that the Mahama administration will prioritise access, quality and relevance in tertiary education.
To improve access, he said, the government will focus on expanding infrastructure. "Access, quality and relevance will be our focus in tertiary education," he said.
